Job Description

Under the direction of the Senior Manager of Advisory Services, theAccounting Solutions Specialistwill assist to oversee client monthly and year-end bookkeeping duties and perform advisory operations duties, including but not limited to client consulting and support, client (and potential staff training), review and clean-up of client books, and various other business services. The Accounting Solutions Specialist will work collaboratively with others, as well as, independently to provide superior client services and timely work at the Firm.

Education and Experience

  • Previous Financial Controller experience or Public Accounting Technician/Staff Accountant (minimum 5 years)
  • Degree or other education will be considered
  • Strong skills in MS Office and accounting softwares (Quickbooks, QuickBooks Online, SAGE)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

This job description does not deal with every situation that may arise during employment. It is intended to reflect the core responsibilities and tasks of employment with the Firm.

Detailed duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Client consulting – proactive in understanding a client’s ‘pain points’ and where we can add value
  • Assist clients with migrations to QuickBooks Online and provide post migration training and support to clients
  • General and on-call client support – providing clients with accounting software support and general bookkeeping inquiries
  • Provide accounting software support to internal team of file preparers and Managers as required
  • Special Projects – oversee client staff training/facilitation, assisting to temporarily fill an accounting role for clients, design and/or document accounting processes for clients
  • Internal compilation support
  • Monitoring and managing engagements efficiently and effectively
  • Provide recommendations to the Advisory operations and bookkeeping group regarding internal processes that are more efficient

Additional Responsibilities

  • Performing other duties, from time to time, as requested
  • Completing other accounting-related duties as required
  • Positively representing the firm in the community in actions and participation in events, committees, organizations etc. that are of interest to you

General Requirements

  • On occasion this position may require some overtime

Your ability to carry out these duties and others that may be assigned from time to time will be considered as part of your annual performance assessment.
