Robert Half is searching for an experienced candidate like you to join the team at a busy, local non-profit organization. In this position, you will be responsible for leading daily operations, including maintaining the general ledger system, preparing and/or reviewing appropriate ledger entries and reconciliations, preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, assisting with regulatory reporting as applicable, and related duties. An integral part of this position is representing finance and accounting at their leadership table. This Accounting Manager role is a permanent employment opportunity, based in the Nepean, Ontario area. This is a hybrid-work arrangement with 2 to 3 days available from home. Responsibilities: -Ensure close deadlines are met by encouraging and managing the accounting team performance during the closing process -Assemble various technical accounting policies, procedures, and analyses -Working knowledge of SAGE 300 and be responsible for IT and IT vendor. -Regular review and analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts owned by payroll and their finance officer -Develop relevant, timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook -Assist in the preparation of financial statements under ASNPO , including document preparation, data analysis, integrity validation, and reconciliation processes -Team management Qualifications: 5 years of recent relevant financial experience -Working knowledge of SAGE 300 -Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or equivalent degree and/or experience -Customer service oriented communication skills that allow for pleasant and beneficial interactions with all internal and external customers -CPA preferred however commensurate experience is acceptable. -Solid technical skills -Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement -Billing Functions experience highly preferred -Comprehension of Not-For-Profit accounting -General familiarity with Accounts Receivable (AR) -Previous experience working with policies & procedures -Proficiency in enterprise resource planning -Good understanding of budget forecasting -Background working with Financial Statement -Practical knowledge of auditing -External auditing experience highly valued -Accounting Software Systems experience If this position interests you, please do not hesitate to call us at 613-236-4253 or apply online today Job Reference Number: 0012993432 Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
