About Bedrock: Bedrock is operationalizing the largest Earth-exploration mission in human history. We’re doing that by developing robotics & software to explore, map, and classify the entirety of Earth's ocean floor. The oceans are a critical component of climate stabilization. Our hope is to provide critical subsea data and infrastructure to further understand and predict the fundamental forces that support harmonious human existence on this planet. About You and the Role: The ocean covers over 70% of our planet—we need the sea to survive—but despite its importance we know little about it: over 80% of the ocean has never been mapped; moreover, it’s believed that less than 5% has been mapped at least at a 100m resolution. The truth is that humans know much more about the surfaces of the Moon and Mars than our own ocean floor. We at Bedrock think that needs to change. Quickly. We are seeking an Accountant Manager to support the CFO in various aspects of internal accounting, including, but not limited to the following: Proactively manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting close activitiesSupervise day-to-day accounting operations and ensure strict adherence to internal controlsProduce accurate and prompt reporting of financial results, aligning with both US GAAP and global accounting standardsEnsure adherence to appropriate accounting standards and controls, including thorough review of journal entries, general ledger account reconciliations, and comprehensive analysis of monthly resultsIdentify opportunities for process enhancements and automation, streamlining the closing timeline without compromising accounting accuracy and integrityCollaborate with stakeholders across the organization to collect and analyze pertinent data and contextual information essential for conducting accounting tasks effectivelyRequirements: 5+ years of accounting experience; CPA firm and tech startup experience preferredCPA and experience with manufacturing-related inventory accounting preferredAdvanced spreadsheet skills (Excel and Google Sheets)Experience with Quickbooks OnlineStrong problem solving and interpersonal communication skillsProficiency in prioritization, multitasking, and delivering outcomes in a dynamic setting, while maintaining a strong drive for continuous improvementExplore the last true frontier left on Earth with us.
