Today, Hungerford Properties has more than 50 employees and operates in three provinces, with over 1.7 billion square feet of property under management or development.The Candidate and ResponsibilitiesThe Accounting Administrator position is based out of Vancouver.Applicants for this position will be self-motivated individuals with a high degree of initiative and will possess strong interpersonal skills, be attentive to detail, and able to build trusting relationships.The candidate will report directly to the Director, Corporate Accounting and work very closely with the Senior Accounts Payable role. The candidate will work in conjunction with all departments and must have a customer service focused approach.The Accounting Administrator will be active in the following primary responsibilities both in an individual and team setting:Perform full cycle accounts payable functions (includes but not limited to AP entries and cheque runs)Perform bank runs and deposits at multiple institutionsAccounts receivable responsibilitiesProcess expense reports as requiredFile GST returns for multiple entitiesProcess EFT batches, cheque runs and urgent cheques as requiredMaintain systematic filing of accounting recordsRespond to requests and inquiries from other departments and external vendorsAssist in the preparation of supporting working papers and documentation for year-end audit processAssist in the annual billing to tenants and support property management and development teams in accounting mattersProvide general support to documentation and administration processesAssist with administrative tasks as assigned by the Director, Corporate AccountingOther responsibilities as requiredThe Candidate will also be someone who is completely aligned with the Core Values of Hungerford Properties.Competencies, Qualifications and Required ExperienceCompletion of Accounting/Bookeeping diploma/certificate or equivalent post-secondary programMinimum 2 years in high volume Accounts PayableExperience with both standard and development Accounta Payable (job cost) is a strong assetKnowledge of Yardi Voyager is a strong assetAdvanced skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)Strong verbal and written communication skillsSkills and AttributesAbility to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships, team player with a customer service mindsetAmbitious with a process-oriented mindsetAbility to allocate time effectively, meet tight deadlines, multiple demands and competing prioritiesSelf-motivated and possesses a high level of professionalismStrong and professional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively in an individual settingExcellent work ethic and attention to detailOur Compensation & Benefits Philosophy:The typical hiring range for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year. The actual offered salary may vary and will depend on individual experience, qualifications, and market conditions for the role.
