Job Description

EXIGENCES

Accountant

Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, the Accountant will act as a support for the accounting department. All tasks must be completed in a timely manner so as to facilitate the department’s workflow and in accordance with company regulations.

General Accounting:

  • Prepare journal entries and file supporting documentation for the journal entries;
  • Prepare responses to US Census and Statistics Canada questionnaires;
  • Preparation of the monthly binders and Printing flows from Mag;
  • Prepare monthly FX rate file;
  • Calculate, prepare and file Sales & Use tax, Business and Occupancy as well as personal Property Tax;
  • Prepare prepaid insurance file
  • Prepare the Management and Royalties fees,

Reporting:

  • Perform the Magnitude upload for your assigned sports division entities and ensure that the uploaded information ties to the reporting schedules;
  • Reconcile intercompany transactions and advance accounts;
  • Perform Month End in Syspro;
  • Prepare the monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Prepare and book the monthly recurring journal entries;

Fixed assets:

  • Ensure all assets are properly booked in Syspro, including correct GL and amortization period
  • Maintain the Construction in Progress accounts
  • Maintain the proper documentation for all new purchases, activations & disposals
  • Prepare the monthly CAPEX report
  • Prepare monthly intangible asset & fixed asset continuity schedules
  • Ensure compliance in ETRACE for fixed asset controls

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor in Accounting with minimum 2 years of experience, or DEC in accounting with 4 years of experience
  • Proficient in MS Office (intermediate Excel with knowledge of pivot tables and vlook ups) and computer systems management (ERP)

COMPETENCIES

  • Fluent in English, written and spoken
  • Fluent in French (an asset)
  • Rigor and detailed oriented
  • Capable of working well under pressure, in a fast pace and changing environment while ensuring deadlines are met
  • Strong time management and organization skills
  • Collaborative working with strong interpersonal skills
  • Experience in Magnitude (an asset)
