Account Manager – Industrial (HDPE)Calgary, AB (home based) Our national client is expanding again. In an effort to match demand, client expectations and market growth, they are motivated to add an Account Manager to their Southern Alberta Sales group. In this unique home office-based position within the Wholesale Distribution sector, you will focus on supporting demand and sales opportunities by targeting, educating and partnering with a range of customers, with a key focus on customer retention and managing existing relationships, and some strategic project prospecting.The successful Account Manager will be a dynamic, team-oriented technical sales professional with consultative, relationship selling skills. Due to the technical background of this position, mechanical aptitude and interest is a must. Our client is excited to bring on a proven sales professional that has the drive and interest to hunt, but also possesses the capacity and experience to manage an existing book of active accounts. A track record of targeting, supporting and managing clients in the municipal, institutional, and EPCM segment, would be advantageous. This role will need to be familiar with HDPE product lines.**Must reside in the Southern Alberta marketplace to get considered for this exciting opportunity. ** Position Overview:Establish, develop, and manage all accounts in the assigned territory -- be an established first-choice partner with end users and clients. Work internally with stakeholders to develop account specific plans that maximize sales, profit, merchandising, distribution and market shareManaging a robust territory through effective time management and strategic planningFormulate strategic action plans aimed at converting competitive users and non-users into dedicated clients of services.Actively engage in efforts to retain existing accounts.Deliver comprehensive product information, encompassing features, benefits, and updates on new product lines.Conduct regular customer visits and follow-ups, both on-site and remotely.Identify and pursue opportunities for acquiring new customers.Collaborate in the preparation of sales budgets.Stay informed about major projects and their potential impact on customersRequirements: Previous technical selling experience is highly preferred in a mechanical setting: plumbing, waterworks, industrial or utility marketPrevious knowledge of dealing with HDPE productsSuccessful track record of targeting, supporting and managing clients in the municipal, institutional, and EPCM segmetns (Oil & Gas, Energy, Power, Heavy Civil construction etc..)Prefer a post-secondary education, but a technical certificate / Red Seal trade (with sales experience) is also a strong fitExcellent negotiation and presentation skills – ability to sell to operations/construction personnel, engineers and to municipal clients Ability to change, adapt and thrive in a fast paced competitive environment.Ability to build and foster impactful relationships with key customers Comfort and interest to work from a home office, with the ability to visit branch on a week to week basis (must reside in the Lower Mainland/Fraser Valley/GVA)Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and Clean Driver’s Abstract.
