Background

SaskEnergy is seeking a Senior Technical Lead focused on System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM). The role is primarily responsible for the technical administration, support, and maintenance of SaskEnergy’s on-prem SCCM environment. This includes leading best practices in SCCM configuration, security, and integration. This person will also be responsible for researching and providing recommendations on technical solutions and roadmap as they relate to SCCM.

SaskEnergy’s SCCM environment manages over 1500 endpoints including, 1000 laptops, 400 desktops, and about 360 semi-rugged notebooks based on Windows 10 Enterprise edition, and Microsoft 365 Apps for enterprise. Our mobile workforce environment and consists of multi-vendor contract resources operating in a pool concept where resources are utilized across varying projects and operational areas based on skills and abilities, with a goal of providing the most efficient and effective support to the business.

  • Typical activities in this role include but are not limited to:

    1. Administer, maintain, support & patch the SCCM production & test environments

    2. Design, plan, manage and implement group policies for an enterprise environment

    3. Design, plan and manage Windows app packages, task sequences per workstation persona

    4. Develop and maintain PowerShell scripting related to SCCM environment

    5. Develop and maintain SQL scripts, queries & reports related to SCCM environment

    6. Deploy driver updates, BIOS updates for a range of models, maintain configuration baselines and prevent configuration drift

    7. Manage, test & deploy Microsoft updates (patch Tuesdays)

    8. Troubleshoot and work through complex technical issues

    9. Develop and maintain good documentation

    10. Provide assistance and mentorship as required

    11. Knowledge share/transfer

    The key skills and knowledge areas required for this resource are outlined in attached Appendix C – Supplementary Specifications. The Senior Technical Lead must be able to perform in a team environment with strong interpersonal and professional communication skills. North American job experience is considered an asset for this proposal. Proponents are encouraged to provide specific and qualitative verbiage of other areas where their expertise can add value to our teams and make our projects as successful as possible.

    The preference for start date is as soon as possible. The initial term for this role will conclude on March 31, 2023; after which SaskEnergy will evaluate its ongoing requirements and potentially extend the term for this Resource in accordance with the terms and conditions of the proponent’s Technology Master Service Agreement (TMSA).

    The Resource will be required to work and be located on site at SaskEnergy Head Office in Regina, Monday to Friday 8 am to 5 pm and the proposed hourly rate shall be inclusive of all travel and living costs (PST and GST are extra). Occasional travel to support offices across the province will be required. Submitted resources MUST have a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s License or equivalent to be considered.

    CONTRACT DURATION

    The Contract will be effective for an initial term commencing on the date of award and ending on March 31, 2023. The contract will automatically renew for successive one (1) year terms, a maximum of four (4) times, unless the Contract is terminated in accordance with its provisions or by either party, at least ten (10) days prior to the expiry of the then current term, providing the other party with written notice of its intent to terminate the Contract upon the conclusion of the then current term. Renewal terms will be subject to the same terms and conditions, including rates, used during the initial term unless otherwise agreed to by the parties. If a notice of termination is provided, the provision of any goods or services under the Contract must be approved in advance by the Administrator, and will be paid for at the rates then in force.
