Visit us today and check out to see why more people from across the globe are moving here.About the Opportunity Reporting to the Chief Power Engineer the 3rd Class Power Engineer performs a variety of tasks that ensure the safe, efficient and continuous operation of the high pressure steam plants, chiller plants, hot water boilers, pressure vessels, water treatment programs, and all related auxiliary equipment as well as building mechanical systems at their assigned site. The 3rd Class Power Engineer completes rounds of building mechanical rooms and must have a basic understanding of other building maintenance trades as they inspects various mechanical systems, ex: medical gas/air/vacuum system, air handling units (ventilation), heating systems, fire water pumping system.About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following: Third Class Standardized Power Engineers certificate from the NS Department of Labour and Advanced Education.Five years experience preferred, after obtaining Third Class certificate in operation and maintenance of a high pressure steam plant.If the above is not available we will consider: two year experience after obtaining Third Class certificate in operation and maintenance of a high pressure steam plant.Good knowledge of the operation of boilers, chillers, HVAC and other electrical machinery.Strong safety track record and mindset is a must.Knowledge of applicable safety codes.Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.
