Job Description

Mandy began playing Ultimate 11 years ago in Waterloo, Ontario. As a player, she won silver at CUCM with Thrift Shop in 2018 and she has played internationally at PAUC and WMUCC. Her coaching career began in the Open division, and she has since gone on to coach university and Masters Ultimate. Currently, she spends her time co-captaining Queen Ps, a Master’s team she co-founded.

Mandy is a strategic thinker and strong communicator who leads with humour and compassion. She is excited to work with the GM Open team as they aim for the top of the podium in 2024.

Jaime began playing Ultimate in 2001 and, like many, fell in love with the sport overnight. She has led several teams to CUC podium finishes in mixed and women’s divisions. Her coaching career has been focused on developing teams for success, including Stella (2011 & 2012 - rebuild years), Luna (2022 - first CUC bid), and Crank (2023 - 5th, team’s highest finish to date).

Jaime Boss

In 2013 she founded Eclipse (Women’s Masters), helping to establish a Masters Women’s division in Canada.

With a love of playing Ultimate, Jaime has found an even greater passion in coaching, where she empowers athletes to bring out their best. As a coach, Jaime believes in developing systems that enable each player to do what they do best and excel on a personal level within a strategic team framework.

While still playing for Solstice in the Women’s GM division (winning gold at 2019 USAU) and securing a bid for WGMUC 2022 (division cancelled), Jaime persists in achieving great things both playing and coaching at high levels.

Clayton Howlett

Clayton entered the competitive world of Ultimate in 2005 at the University of Victoria, playing with the UVictim Ultimate squad, later progressing into club Ultimate. Clay played in the Open division with Vancouver’s Blackfish from 2008-2010 before founding the Mixed team Victoria Skysharks in 2011. He transitioned to Mixed Masters in 2018 by joining the newly formed Happy Campers, winning CUC in their inaugural season. Clay coached Happy Campers in the Grand Masters division at WMUCC in 2022, bringing home the bronze from Limerick.

Over the course of his competitive career, Clay has coached various levels of Ultimate, including high school (Richmond), university (UVIC), and Mixed Masters/Mixed Grand-Masters. Bringing a keen sense of field vision and skills as a concise communicator and teacher, Clay is excited to assist in coaching Team Canada Open Masters.

Franco discovered Ultimate at 25 in Montreal after playing and coaching flag football and tennisfor over 10 years. She played on club teams in Montreal and Washington D.C. and she stillsplays competitively with folks from New York, Philly, and Québec. Franco has participated inseveral national championships in Canada and in the United States. She has been selectedtwice to represent Canada, has participated in 4 Worlds Championships, winning a gold medalin 2014 and a silver medal in 2016. Francoise is passionate about Ultimate and attaining highperformance in sports.
